In no specific order, some things about me…..
1. I had a pet duck as a child that didn’t like to swim.
2. I have been married for almost 10 years.
3. I was named after my two grandmothers.
4. I lived in Indonesia at two different times for a total of 18 months.
5. My favorite dishes & glassware are cobalt blue.
6. It’s difficult for me to make close friends, but once I do I consider them friends for life.
7. I LOVE to read. Take me to the new books section of the library and I’m happy. Mostly non-fiction, though.
8. I studied Sanskrit in college just for the fun of it.
9. My daughter was born Memorial Day weekend of 2005.
10. I would have considered myself a Christian my whole life, but have just really started figuring out what it means to be in a relationship with God over the past four years.
11. I prefer dark chocolate over milk chocolate.
12. My continual goal is to be healthier: eat right, be a healthy weight, enjoy an active lifestyle. Note the use of the word “continual”…..still very much a work in progress.
13. I taught elementary & middle school for 6 years.
14. My first “real” job was in the domestics department at Walmart.
15. My daughter’s smiles are one of the true joys of life.
16. When I’m really feeling down and there’s nothing sinful in the house to eat, I concoct this horrid cookie-dough like substance that I’ve termed “The Mix”.
17. I was a radio DJ for a year in college.
18. I have 5 brothers and sisters.
19. I cry at sappy movies.
20. My love languages are Words of Affirmation and Acts of Service.
21. My family hosted several foreign exchange students when I was in high school.
22. I worked in the library at my college, and still count it as one of my favorite places.
23. I’m currently a SAHM, but do tutoring part time for a extra income.
24. I lived in Arizona for 11 years.
25. I pursued a graduate degree in anthropology while working as an administrative assistant for a few years.
26. As a child, I had rheumatic fever.
27. Most times I’m very shy and introverted.
28. But if you’re in my inner circle, I’ll feel comfortable enough to sing monkey songs around you.
29. My husband can still make me blush.
30. There are parts of my life that I’d rather go back and rewrite.
31. I anxiously await mail and email each day.
32. My dreams are extremely odd, detailed, and offbeat.
33. Snakes scare me.
34. Gardening is a hobby I’d like to start I do somewhat ~ enjoy it when I do, but don’t have nearly enough time.
35. The first CD I owned was by REM.
36. For many years, the “hobby” I enjoyed most was doing the budget. Scary, but true. (Can we say no time for a real hobby?)
37. My children were both born without painkillers or an epidural (no heroics, just stubbornness
).
38. Part of me secretly wants to be much “crunchier” than I am.
39. I have one cat, who is very independent.
40. Other than giving birth, I’ve never spent time in the hospital.
41. We sponsor a family in Africa.
42. I eat oatmeal and a banana 90% of the time for breakfast.
43.I felt the first “flutters” of pregnancy while listening to a sermon on the birth of Jesus.
44. My husband proposed on New Year’s Eve (right after giving me his class ring and asking me to go steady as a joke).
45. My first date was with a boy who was born the same day I was (our moms had shared a hospital recovery room).
46. I pray often, throughout the day.
47. I had a very short-lived marriage when I was right out of college and changed nearly everything about myself for him: my name, my interests, and even my religion.
48. Some of my favorite books as a child were the Little House series and Anne of Green Gables.
49. I’ve kept journals off and on since age 8.
50. One of my sisters is 17 years younger than I am.
51. I had three miscarriages before my daughter was born.
52. I experienced a small miracle (in my eyes) shortly after the third baby was lost.
53. I enjoy cooking, especially if I have time.
54. Flylady has been a big help to me in managing a house and reigning in my materialistic attitudes.
55. I’m trying to use sign language with my baby.
56. I speak Indonesian fairly well.
57. Emotional eating is my biggest downfall when I try to lose weight.
58. I walked in a 5K Walk for the Cure one year.
59. My grandmother died from breast cancer.
60. My neighbors had chimpanzees and bears when I was growing up.
61. My husband and I were marrried in a gazebo by a very old justice of the peace.
62. The house I grew up in is still where we return for holidays with my parents.
63. For the past four years I’ve been a member of small groups through church.
64. I competed in Math Counts as a teenager.
65. My first love was a French penpal. He later developed AIDS, and I don’t know if he is still alive.
66. My first husband passed away at a young age several years ago (after we were no longer married).
67. My parents set a great example for us.
68. Both grandmothers were artists.
69. I would like to learn to play the piano.
70. I’ve never read through the entire Bible.
71. Most people would say that I’m very low-maintenance.
72. Many of my friends don’t know most of the things on this list.
73. The thought of homeschooling intrigues me, even though I’m a teacher (or especially since I’m a teacher?).
74. I spend way too much time online.
75. I’m making an effort to turn my life over to God’s will.
76. I was valedictorian of my graduating class in high school.
77. My closest-in-age sister and I live in the same town and our oldest children are two months apart in age. Our youngest children are a year apart in age.
78. I’m a knowledge junkie……Google is my downfall.
79. Singing is something I only do in private or with those closest to me.
80. Lilacs and daffodils are my favorite flowers.
81. I’d like to go to Europe and Hawaii someday.
82. Someday I might give up my TV entirely……right now we only watch Lost regularly.
83. My favorite season is spring.
84. I still keep in touch with several of my former students.
85. The desert wilderness strikes a special chord in my heart.
86. Walnuts are my favorite nut.
87. I am reserved about new things.
88. Thai, Chinese, Middle Eastern, and Ethiopian food are some of my favorites.
89. I graduated from high school in 1989.
90. I tend to think things through before I comment on them in public.
91. I often cry during worship.
92. Sometimes life seems like an endless series of incomplete projects.
93. I’d like to am unsure about having another child (now that we have 2).
94. My husband knows me better than I know myself sometimes.
95. I’m definitely not a “girly-girl”.
96. I wish that I was more outgoing.
97. Walking along a beach and listening to the sound of the ocean is one of my favorite vacation activities.
98. I collect camels.
99. My i-Tunes library is VERY eclectic.
100. The name Tangomoon comes from a moonlit dance in a parking lot with my husband one night when we were dating. It became one of my first screen names at the dawn of the Internet, and has stuck ever since.
